Eaton Y-Strainers Models 80 and 85 are devices that are inserted in a pipeline to remove dirt and other undesired material from fluids. They’re made to withstand the entire ANSI pressure rating of 100°F, as indicated on the strainer. Straining is performed by passing the fluid across a screen with various sized apertures. Where fluid flow can be interrupted while the screen is removed for cleaning, Y-Strainers are placed. Y-Strainers are made to withstand the piping system’s pressures.
