A duplex strainer is a device that removes dirt and other undesired particles from fluids through a pipeline. Straining is performed by passing the fluid through a basket with various sized apertures. Where fluid flow cannot be interrupted while the basket is removed for cleaning, duplex strainers are used. Duplex strainers are made to handle the pipe system’s rated pressure.
Strainers in the Model 900 and 950B series that fit up to 14″ pipe sizes are completely constructed. Before relocating, secure the strainer and move as a single unit. Strainers in the Model 900 and 950B series that are 26″ or larger are sent dismantled.
